11 The Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao, signs a $2.76 billion construction contract with the Maeda-Hitachi-Yokogawa-Hsin Chong Joint Venture consortium to build the 1 596-metre Stonecutters Bridge, scheduled for completion in 2008.
12 The Chief Secretary for Administration leaves for Sweden and Russia for a seven-day trip to promote Hong Kong's role as an international business and financial hub and the premium platform for accessing the Mainland market.
15 The Government announces the appointment of an Independent Panel of Inquiry to look into incidents relating to the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), including the appointment and termination of employment of Mr Patrick Yu as the Director of Operations of the EOC.
17 The Chief Executive accepts the findings and recommendations of the Independent Panel of Inquiry on the Harbour Fest. The two-member Independent Panel was set up in December 2003 to look into the Harbour Fest event.
27 The Financial Secretary leads a Hong Kong delegation to attend the Chongqing-Hong Kong Week.
