Hong Kong Dance Company

The Hong Kong Dance Company is the only professional Chinese dance
company in Hong Kong to present Chinese traditional and folk dances and
original dance dramas on Chinese and Hong Kong themes. The company
presented five productions in 1997, attracting 9 737 people to 17
performances.

It also gave 114 free performances and workshops in schools and
community art centres to 57 041 people.

In October 1997, it was invited to participate in the Fifth China Arts
Festival in Chengdu and gave two performances of the original dance
medley Suchness, attracting 2 366 people.
