Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra

The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra is Hong Kong's only professional
Chinese music orchestra. In 1997, the 85-member orchestra celebrated its
20th professional season by giving 26 regular concerts and three ensemble
concerts attracting 30 510 people. It also organised free outreach
performances at community arts centres and schools. In the year, the
orchestra organised an International Conference on the Development of
Chinese Music in February, and was invited to tour Singapore in June and
Canada in November.
