Educational Seminars and Marine Safety Campaign

Continuing with its initiative in 1996, the Marine Department conducted
six educational seminars and two major campaigns on marine safety in
1997. One seminar held in Shenzhen attracted more than 80 participants
from various Mainland government departments and shipping companies.
These seminars and safety campaigns are aimed at all personnel involved
in vessel operations and form a major part of the department's efforts to
ensure marine safety within Hong Kong waters. More such activities are
planned for 1998.
